SonicMQ from Progress Software is to be embedded within the B2B integration solutions from GXS. The e-business messaging server will be packaged with GXS Enterprise System, a multi-purpose integration broker, and GXS InterLinx, which enables Web-to-ERP and internal application integration.

“Using SonicMQ in support of Java Message Service will add a standardized open architecture to our integration brokers that facilitates secure and persistent messaging,” said Steve Scala, GXS vice president of integration solutions. “This technology enhancement will help us respond more quickly to our customers’ integration requirements, and will shorten the time needed to integrate our software solutions with those of our technology partners.”

SonicMQ will also be embedded as part of a customized suite of application adapters that GXS customers, using both XML and EDI, can employ to quickly and easily integrate their legacy systems with B2B applications. These GXS tools, called intelligent application adapters, are designed to be less expensive to maintain than custom integration solutions.

“SonicMQ is architected to meet the unique requirements of information integration and exchange over the Internet,” said Dan Potter, vice president of SonicMQ product marketing. “GXS’ market leading products and services are further enhanced through this licensing agreement, enabling some of the most rigorous and complex B2B application integration endeavors in the market today.”
