Saga Software has released Sagavista 2.0, an enhanced version of its year-old integration product. With the introduction of Windows 2000 platform support, along with infrastructure enhancements, Sagavista 2.0 aims to provide customers with improved scalability and performance across a wide range of IT environments.

New features of Sagavista 2.0 include:

* Adapter development enhancements. Sagavista 2.0 includes a new Adapter Development Environment (ADE), a wizard-driven tool that generates Sagavista Adapter framework code. While Sagavista remains a reasonably non-intrusive integration product, the ADE is a fast way to customize for special integration challenges.

* Systems management integration. Sagavista 2.0 can send SNMP traps and alerts. This protocol is supported by virtually all-popular network management systems, making it possible to analyze information about various parts of a distributed computing environment in a central location.

* Security extensions. Sagavista 2.0 provides security for all channels and protects the Sagavista repository.
