Netegrity has introduced Delegated Management Services, a new administrative tool for centrally managing security policies while empowering partners and customers to ‘self manage’ their user accounts. Netegrity DMS will be available as part of the SiteMinder 4.5 release, which will be available within the next 30 days.
Netegrity, a provider of e-commerce infrastructure solutions for secure portal management, has announced a new product called Delegated Management Services (DMS). DMS addresses the complexity of distributed user management by enabling organizations to delegate user administration to their business partners, remote business units, and end users.
DMS allows partners, suppliers, and distributed business units to assign their own administrators, while providing their users with ‘self-service’ tools for updating their user profiles. DMS provides the following capabilities:
* Native support for major LDAP directories that customers have already deployed
* Multiple levels of delegation for user management across unlimited organization, partner, and affiliate sites
* User roles for a more flexible and efficient approach to assigning users to centralized policies that determine the applications the user can access
* Standards compliant templates for easy customization of partner and affiliate branding as well as world-wide localization
* Workflow enablement for integrating business process automation requirements
* High scalability and availability with load balancing, failover, and multi-level caching.
Barry Bycoff, chairman and CEO of Netegrity said: “There is a tremendous opportunity for Netegrity in the rapidly growing global e-marketplace and service provider markets. Our customers have been demanding a highly scalable solution for delegated user management that is designed to work natively with all of the leading user directories deployed today. Netegrity’s new DMS product is uniquely positioned to meet this demand.”
