GE Global eXchange Services (GXS) is teaming with TIBCO Software to enhance data transformation capabilities for TIBCO’s real-time e-business infrastructure software. Using the joint solution, customers will now be able to exchange, read and process documents, whether they are based on XML or EDI data transport standards, in order to streamline the supply chain.

Under the terms of the agreement, TIBCO will combine the EDI integration capabilities found in GXS’ Application Integrator with it’s XML-based TIBCO ActiveExchange product suite to help customers gain maximum efficiency from their investments in EDI supply chain technology. In addition, TIBCO can now further extend its EDI standards support for the healthcare (HIPAA), energy (EAIJ), transportation (Tradacoms), and financial (SEF) industries.

“This relationship allows our customers to benefit from the same EDI integration technology that has been proven by GE Global eXchange Services in its own supply chain network,” said Fred Meyer, chief marketing officer for TIBCO Software. “By working with GXS to extend EDI support, TIBCO is giving its customers the flexibility to work with diverse trading partners using EDI and XML standards.”

In addition to the technology alliance, GXS has joined the TIBCO Alliance Partner (TAP) Program, and reciprocally TIBCO has joined the GXS Global Alliance program. The two companies will work together to provide e-business solutions, and participate in joint engineering, sales, and marketing activities.
