SABRE INTEGRATES RESERVATION SYSTEM

Vendor: Actional

Product: Control Broker

Sabre Holdings, a leader in travel marketing and distribution, is to integrate its high transaction e-business environment. Actional Control Broker will provide a direct link between all of the Sabre Computer Reservation System’s market-facing agent terminals and customer portals, and its back-end databases.

“Unlike small, simple batch oriented financial transactions, our integration solution interacts with Transaction Processing Facility systems that support in excess of 7,500 sophisticated real-time transactions per second,” said Andy Morrison, enterprise architect for Sabre. “Therefore, it must scale appropriately, without compromising performance or security. The world-class performance of Actional Control Broker made this a very straightforward decision. It was an order of magnitude faster than anything else we tested.”

SUPPLYFORCE.COM STREAMLINES B2B CHANNELS

Vendor: North Systems

Product: NorthB2B

supplyFORCE.com, a provider of fully-integrated B2B e-commerce and supply chain management solutions for the procurement of MRO and construction supplies, has selected NorthB2B to reduce channel costs and improve communication with its North American Distributor Network.

By deploying NorthB2B’s NorthPartner application, supplyFORCE.com has an end-to-end communication solution for managing and supporting the more than 3,400 branch locations across the country which comprise the supplyFORCE.com network.

“supplyFORCE.com needed an efficient, automated process for managing the dissemination of information to and from our network in order to provide our customers with the high level of service they expect,” said Steve Hartkopf, vice president of channel and marketing for supplyFORCE.com. “Prior to North Systems, we were faced with a complex data management and communication process, including costly face-to-face meetings and time-intensive data sharing methods such as fax and email. The North Systems’ solution has provided the advanced e-commerce tools we need to quickly and easily integrate the independent companies and branches of our distributor network.”

SHARP SUPPLY CHAIN INITIATIVE

Vendor: Extricity

Sharp Microelectronics has selected Extricity as its B2B solution for its e-business supply chain initiative. Extricity provides the B2B software framework to help extend Sharp’s critical business processes and manage the sharing of product availability information, shipping status, and product data between Sharp and its customers.

“As customers, sales reps, and distributors began to request more advanced e-commerce capabilities, we chose Extricity as the foundation for a comprehensive e-business model that would fortify Sharp Microelectronics’ highly-personalized business approach,” said Don Lavallee, Sharp Microelectronics. “The Extricity B2B platform only took a couple weeks to deploy, and has enhanced the value-added contribution of our distributors and sales representatives, and will optimize the flow of information both inside and outside the company.
