Systems integrator Digital Applications International (DAI) has entered the EAI field, providing consulting, implementation, and maintenance and support services. The focus of the EAI activities at DAI will include application integration within and across organizations including geographically separated operating units, as well as between different organizations within the supply chain.
“Our primary mission is to develop solutions that deliver competitive advantage to our clients – EAI is probably one of the very few IT areas where a company can sustain such an advantage over a significant period of time,” said DAI managing director Andrew Kisiel. “We have been aware for some time that our clients are moving to a need for greater enterprise-wide integration solutions. Because of our wide ranging systems integration experience across a variety of industries and application areas, our existing major clients have already been asking DAI to provide EAI advice and solutions.”
“Now we have decided to formally establish our position in this key marketplace by forming a new consulting group focused on EAI,” continued Kisiel. “It is a logical move for a company like DAI that has undertaken application and system integration work for almost 30 years and is one that will provide the impetus for the next growth stage of our business.”
Gary Dunton, head of the new EAI business group at DAI stated, “This move is in keeping with one of DAI’s key success factors – our ability to maintain and develop our core skills in emerging technologies and standards to fulfil the needs of our clients. There are potentially a number of pitfalls in pursuing an EAI solution especially in the areas of infrastructure technologies and messaging. We understand these issues.
“The EAI activity is currently based at our London offices and contains some of our most experienced consultants. We have also invested heavily in training in the relevant product and technology areas. This training, together with our experience in undertaking system integration work in a variety of application areas, means that not only are we aware of the difficulties associated with pan-organization integration, but also we are prepared to provide the solutions right now.”
