Choose Comfort

When you’re tired enough, almost any mattress can seem comfortable, at least until you wake up stiff and sore in the morning. If your mattress isn’t comfortable you know it. You already know whether it’s keeping you awake at night as you toss and turn trying to find the right position or if you wake up with a stiff back and aching joints from the pressure of the mattress pushing your body out of its natural alignment all night long. Despite the fact that owning an uncomfortable mattress is painfully obvious to most folks, many of them return to that same uncomfortable mattress night after night and don’t do anything about it for months.

Trying to sleep on an uncomfortable mattress can lead to serious health issues beyond just aches and pains. Studies show that people who routinely get less than 7 hours of sleep each night for any reason, experience a higher incidence of heart disease, high blood pressure, and even diabetes. Overall mortality rises as well. If you can do something about that just by changing to a more comfortable mattress that allows you to get a full night’s sleep, why wouldn’t you?

Lack of sleep affects your personality as well. Those without a good night’s rest tend to be more irritable, have a shorter temper and may even see their job performance suffer. In controlled studies, subjects who were prevented from getting a full night’s sleep were less able to focus and concentrate on difficult tasks and did significantly poorer on tests of mental acuity. They also reported lower energy levels throughout the day.

With all of the research pointing to the importance of a full night’s sleep to our health and daiy performance, there is no reason to suffer with an uncomfortable mattress that keeps you awake, tossing and turning at night. Many find relief in a brand new memory foam mattress.

Memory foam reacts to body heat, allowing it to softens and contour itself around the curves of the body. This eliminates uncomfortable pressure points that result when the bulk of your weight rests on your shoulders, hips and knees with a conventional spring mattress. The rest of the memory foam mattress that isn’t in direct contact with the body remains firm, offering strong support to maintain spinal alignment as you sleep.

While memory foam used to be one of the most expensive, premium mattresses available, its price has come down dramatically in recent years as manufacturing techniques and improved and capacity has increased. Memory foam mattresses today are often about the same price as conventional mattresses. There is truly o reason to suffer with an old spring mattress when the comfort of memory foam is available.
