Brokat has released Blaze Advisor Solutions Suite Version 3.2, developed by Blaze Software, a Brokat company. Focusing on ease of use and flexibility, the Advisor 3.2 contains features that for the first time allow designers to create complete rule maintenance applications at the click of a button.

One of the most important new features of Advisor 3.2 is the application generation wizard that enables users to create reusable rule management templates. Such templates ensure consistent implementation of business policies and procedures across multiple applications and multiple channels. The wizard also enables users to easily define the scope, access control, layout and style of the application – including the screen text – as well as define field and column labels, widths, data alignment, and multiple choice selection mechanisms.

“The application generation wizard marks a major milestone for our rules management technology architecture,” said Jeffrey Kilbreth, vice president of product management and marketing at Blaze Software. “Advisor 3.2 allows you to create a sophisticated rule maintenance application in a few minutes. With these applications, non-technical people can maintain sophisticated business policies and personalization rules for production systems without requiring any help from the IT department.”

Advisor 3.2 includes a number of other major extensions to product functionality:

* complete support for importing classes from XML schemas and interoperation with XML documents. Advisor’s XML technology fully supports the W3C standards endorsed by the Java community.

* support for EJB stateful sessions with full J2EE compliance, completing Advisor’s support for the EJB environment.

Written entirely in Java, Advisor 3.2 is based on open standards so that rule services can work easily with heterogeneous data sources and other applications. Distributed computing communication protocols and standards supported include Java, EJB, COM, CORBA, JDBC and XML. Advisor supports all of the leading application server platforms, including WebLogic, WebSphere, Sun iPlanet, Brokat/GemStone, and Microsoft MTS/COM+. Advisor supports multiple hardware platforms as well, including, but not limited to, W2K, NT, Solaris, AIX, AS/400, System/390, and Compaq NSK.
